In 2025, the company invested in workstation and storage systems from Hoffmann Group UK for their new technology centre. Nathaniel Read, Senior Engineer for the Controls Area, decided to go with Hoffmann’s brand Garant to equip their workspace for its high-quality design and sleek finish.
GARANT is one of the leading tooling, workstations and storage brands in Europe and has been established for over 50 years. Ideal Boilers’ aim was to relocate the Research and Development team – consisting of the controls office and laboratory into one area of the technology centre. With the help of workstation and storage specialists from Hoffmann Group UK, Ideal Boilers were supplied with an ergonomic fitted workstation set up in worktop finish Eluplan, maximising the space in the room. The solution also included a continuous row of 2-metre-high swing door cabinets to house daily equipment. This allows the users to keep their workstations free from clutter and non-essential equipment.
Nathaniel said: “when selecting the workstations and storage solutions for the controls area, our main priority was choosing a quality worktop and utilising the space in the room as much as possible. The new workstation set up allows the entire controls team to work in one communal space, while also having an individual dedicated workstation. This has helped the team’s productivity as they are now able to complete electrical test work and carry out daily admin in one place. The use of the storage cabinets has also been an improvement to productivity as the items now stored in the communal area were previously in a separate stores room.

This has improved productivity by allowing the team to complete electrical testing and carry out their daily administrative tasks in the same location, reducing the need to move between different areas.
The installation of the storage cabinets has also contributed to improved productivity. Items that were previously stored in a separate stores room can now be kept within the communal controls area, providing the team with quicker and easier access to the equipment and materials they require.
Nathaniel concluded: “we are happy with the workstation and storage set up, especially because combining the working space has improved the communication in the department and the design gives us better quality working areas.
